Hello,
Just last week I had a brain storm on a neat and original gift for my nephew turning 21 during this Jan. 2013.
Since I reasoned that he must have been born in 1992 to be legally eligible to drink alcohol this year, I did an Excel search through my list of collected coins for the year 1992.
One of the several results obtained was a NGC-slabbed Christopher Columbus commemorative coin minted in 1992, the same year of my nephew's birth.
To make a gift like this even more memorable to any recipient many years into the future one can customize with Word an attached template similar to the one shown that can easily be modified and used for any plastic-slabbed or Mylar-sleeve-enclosed coin given as a gift to a loved one.
The most important aspect of this timeless treasure is that it contains an inconspicuously-placed Mylar or paper sticker that contains an ‘original', ‘dated', and ‘handwritten' signature that may most likely end up meaning more to the recipient 50 years down the road than the coin itself.
This method can be implemented for any CCF folks wanting their gifts to really stand out in a crowd of gifts and not to be spent and always discarded like a common gift card...
just thinkin out loud
