MS62RB. From your comments I'm guessing that NGC goofed and called this a small motto.

It's a nice looking coin for sure, there are some scratches on the reverse under United and to the right of the 2 a small tick. The obverse is only marred by a single carbon spot at 11:00 and a slightly weak strike area at the arrow head on the right. I'd call this coin MS64 RD and it looks like full Red, but color can always tricky when not in hand, the luster looks good and the surfaces don't appear to have been messed with or cleaned/dipped.

Now what did NGC give as their grade? could go either way or I may be way off in my assessment, but I'm thinking they called this MS65RD?

I'm not a fan of NGC 2 cent graded coins in general, PCGS, ANACS and ICG are usually a lot more accurate with grades and color designations. I've seen a lot of dreck in high end graded holders that are 1-3 points too much IMO. Mostly in the 1864 SM coins. Also usually evidenced by price differences between similar graded PCGS stuff MS-63RB and higher.

It looks like a MS-64 RB though close to 65. I will guess NGC called it MS details, altered surfaces.

Well actual Grade MS65 Rb Rotated reverse
A couple of folks got the MS 65 but not the colour.
Personally in hand It does not have enough red to make the full red designation so I'll agree with the RB the grade is two points over what I would have given it.
this is a 63 coin IMO the strike is very weak. There are some fairly major hits around United and to the Left of the 2. NGC is just too inconsistent for me to buy sight unseen on a 2 Cent

I totally agree on NGC not consistently grading two centers, I've seen some real gems mislabeled, but way more they overgrade and miss obvious flaws on them. PCGS and ICG (old company slabs) are pretty decent for the most part and right on the grade.

I got the grade, but missed the color, no way a coin with hits like this one should be in a MS65 holder at all. That said, I can't help my addiction to two centers and would probably buy this coin at a fair price!

A decent rotation always seems to bring a good premium on these.
