Wow, $560!! That's kind of scary, middross! I wonder if this could lead to future attempts to counterfeit the hologram sticker(s)?!?
Makes sense that it probably isn't the actual last roll. As you mention, they probably rolled * applied stickers at different intervals (batches?). It's amazing what people will pay for the so-called last roll!

Since no one will ever know if it WAS the last 50 pennies (most likely NOT!!) there will always be that demand based on mystery and history :)
Lucky guy who got that 20,000 roll for $9.95 !!

since the last minted penny is already at the currency museum the rest of these rolls are meaningless, they are just regular 2012 pennies, but you could look at this last coa like a solid number bill and should carry a resonable premium

never thought of that john! Good call, people are then buying 49 last minted pennies, with 1 random haha
I think the bidders know these are not the last pennies, but the serial number is the ONLY indication that they are. So, unless there is proof otherwise, this roll IS full of the very last ones
this is probably the only time that the last serial number is worth more than 1/20000

We saw the tubs of pennies in the photo-op when the last one was struck. There is no correlation between COA number and production order.
Some people certainly have more money than sense. Think of what $600 would get you in key dates, or early specimen coins.

yeah, unreal how people are spending that much on a roll. For 600 id buy a one of two tings:
1.) EF double tournois
or
2.) one of the $5 gold coins of canada

- it will get interesting at $5000. THIS roll is filled with grading(marketing potential)

Got my shipping notice this morning - if I'd known all I had to do was post a comment here to expedite things I'd have done it a lot sooner.

So, lyradnoj and silverwolf I was just wondering if you would be flipping yours on ebay also. If I had multiples at $10 a roll I would sorely be tempted to make a little on the side for myself.

if I happen to get a collectable number I would consider selling it, and using the money to buy another roll, plus some more coin with any profit. If it is a normal number than I will just put it away for the years to come as I do with everything else I collect.

I agree with silverwolf, but it's very unlikely since I only ordered 1 roll.
