Picked up this 1808 Capped Bust Half at a local coin shop. It is graded by NGC. What do you think?

Thanks,
Joe2007

I'm going to call it F15, because this looks to be an uncommonly-good strike - denticles, stars, hair, etc. - for a year known for indifferent strikes. VF20 wouldn't floor me, though.

I really like it! NGC has been a bit generous on early CBH I've seen lately so I'll guess they said VF25.

Obverse looks real nice and sharp :).

I'd call it VF20.

Ditto Ssuperdave. F-15 with a shot at 20. This coin has excellent eye appeal, the strike is better than most. It's also centered well. I would buy CBHs that looked like this all day long! Fantastic coin.

VF-20, reverse is a little less but overall I think it just makes VF due to the obverse.

I don't know how to grade these, but...

Wow! What a gorgeous, original, old coin! Nice pick-up regardless of the TPG grade!

I will post the grade and the cost later on tonight. Keep the guesses coming! The same coin shop that I bought the 1820 and this one has a really nice 1810 that I'm sorely tempted by as well.

Thank you,
Joe2007

I cautiously say: VF-20.
And ProfLiz said it well: a NICE, honest old coin.
