I received my kangaroo today and I want to verify with others who got it too... is there a whiter spot / ripple behind that kangaroo (see the photo) ? Is it normal or there's something wrong with mine ?

Just received my 3 Roos today, none have any imperfections on the frosted part of coin. Hope these are not milk spots that develop over time.

@Wheely: Not 100% sure what you are referring to as whiter spot. But I found that on the RAM's Kangaroo F15, the frosted part tends to *appear* to have some kind of circular halo, especially near the center of the coin. I just quickly googled some youtube video to show what I mean... The first part of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgHCIo84QAU This one around 2:42s: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7R5UeWSjNk0Are these what you are seeing? I think they are normal. But by all mean try to request an exchange if you are not comfortable keeping your existing one. Edited: Added another video, around 2:08s: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUvLfg2N7zMI found it very common on RAM's coin, not just Kangaroo F15, as if it is their signature. For me myself I don't mind it at all (I sort of like it actually).

@Wheely: Your coin has the kind of halo I was talking about, BUT there is something weird near the center, as if the it got flatten unevenly. I think that is the whiter spot you were referring to, I never seen something like that before. If I were you I will try to exchange.

Now that you mention it, if I look at my coins head on they are perfect but there seem to be a raised circle when viewed from extreme angle. Looks like many if not all the coins have this, can I call it "defect" to some deree? I am keeping mine but if everyone else to returns their Kangaroos to the Mint for credit it may benefit my net worth.

I've moved mine (F15 proof) around in some different light, it looks pretty much perfect to me. I bought this because I missed the 2011 proof Kangaroo at Sunset (F15). Now that I have this one I'm not sure which one I like better. Yes I still look forward to getting the sunset coin.

Enjoy your coin. This is also good looking one.
Just "Sunset" - it is different and unique concept.
Ground, Sky, Sun, symbolic Kangaroo and its shadow...nothing else. But even with this minimalism, you can see the "picture".

Thanks to the post of the dealer from Germany, on the other forum, The "$1 Kangaroo in Outback privy f 15 1 oz fine Silver Australia 2014 Proof" is available, and the price is reasonable ( ebay). It is interesting, that RAM still issues "Sunset" coin, but for the 3 last years - in the 1/5oz format...
