There IS a law that forbids defacing the currency so that it can't be reissued. There is no such law (that I know of) for the coinage. So the Santa dollar bill stickers have to be removable without damaging the bill in order to be legal. Report this Post to the Staff
Jon New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 07/05/2007 1:50 pm Hello all, I don't have any experience with coin collecting, so I hope you will be kind enough to answer a question for me. I have four of the Silver Surfer Quarters mounted on a Search 4 Silver board (in other words, the set as sent out by the film studio). I think I'll probably sell them, but I was wondering about value over time. Do novelty coins like this tend to increase in value, or is the current going rate (which seems to be $40-$60/coin on ebay) just a ridiculously high price caused by the film and surrounding publicity?
