Many limited edition 1 oz silver RCM coins go for $100.00 an oz. Yes, you can get silver bullion for much less but mintages usually in Millions. The bullion eagles & maple leafs make them a bullion investment rather than a numismatic collector's item. I get tired of the same eagle & maple leaf designs year after year.

According to this ebay seller,

2013 piedfort SML
39.39gram
34mm
Mintage 10,000
$99.99

Compared to 2010 Piedfort SML
31.39gram
34mm
Mintage 9,000
$79.95

So 2013 piedfort will be thicker than 2010's

Thanks for pic arianzo. Photo looks kinda blurry but looks to me like a large maple leaf covering an imprint of the map of Canada? May be just me.

Yes, that ebay seller want just to do very small, but sure profit on the release...and for sure he will not buy large amounts.

The Piedfort, Fractional set and candy Cane could be desired items.

Since I limit purchases (feel, that due to amount, coins become like fancy jewelry), will get the Piedfort only.
The set probably nice, but it already the 3-rd this year (Fractional, Royal Baby and this).

Definitely will be getting the Piedfort and the Candy Cane.

I'm a little disappointed they're asking $250 for the fractional set when last year's 25th Anniversary was the same mintage and was $199. Unless the design is exceptional or the case is fabulous, I think I'll pass.

Agreed on the set. If they try to do another maroon clamshell at $250, they can kiss the blarney stone.

So, just on this release, I'm looking at more than a grand. Time to find a support group and kick this habit.

Some additional details.

The piedfort - 25th anniversary maple leaf coin has a total of about 6 maple leafs totalling in size with a large one covering them all. There is the 25th anniversary mark similar to the one that came in July that retailed for just over $100.

Yes CC-Ottawa, the maroon clamshell will be used once again.

However the difference is the gold plating they are using on it and is the reason they are marking it as a 'Mint First' or to elaborate -> Mint first, fractional with gold plating on silver coins. Which in itself is silly.

I know images aren't allowed but I hope descriptions are.

Here you go.

CC-Ottawa, a grand?
What are you thinking of getting?

I'm looking at 2 x Candy Cane and 2 x Piedfort for a total of $500. Add 2 Fractional sets and that would be a grand?

I have to reduce grizzly coin order from 3 to 1 to get the piedfort maple and candy cane.

I think I'm going to cancel 1 of my 2 Grizzlies too.
It's nice to have but having 2 sets doesn't make sense if these aren't going to appreciate much.

I have 3 of the first one.
Too much money tied up on redundant coins for me.

I'd be looking at 3 eagles (300), fractional (250), Cyprus(115), Candy Cane (150) and to continue series... Crystal Snowflake (115), Lenticular (30), and Peidfort Maple (100).

It hurt just typing that.

Things are getting a little out of hand hearing everyone name the coins they will be buying. Because everyone is thinking about getting the same coins and the price for this month is already stacking up to be huge. I've already tried to follow the advice of others by limiting to series I like and plan to collect. But boy do they ever make things hard.
