These 4 arrived today. From the Richard August Collection sold by Stacks Bowers. I knew Richard back in my New England days. Had many nice conversations regarding Colonial America coins and tokens. Very happy to add these to my collection.

Excellent tokens, 1960NYGiants. It's great that you were able to add a friend's coins to your collection.

I got the bug for the 1823-43 Nova Scotia colonial 1/2 pennies & pennies, and counterfeits. Of the 5 varieties listed in Charlton, 2 are said to be brass. I have 12 ; 5 are a much lighter colour than the other 7. Is this what would classify them as brass, or is there a die difference or what ? Was the decision to call some tokens brass reached by xrf , or were they deemed brass, like the 1859 cent, before xrf technology ?

Here are 2 NS-4A1's, flat top one. Someone scraped the 2 off the coin on the left, and it has rim damage (14.40 gms.). The token on the right weighs 12.60 gms. which is below the Charlton 12.80 gms. I also have three NS-4A2 tokens below the 12.80 line - one at 12.29 and two at 12.09 gms.
