If my arms and legs are not aching, I'll pick up anything.

Two years ago I changed planes at Lisbon airport. I went into the men's washroom and saw a bright shiny 1 eurocent coin in the lavatory bowl, reverse side up! There are so many different types of these - especially with all the German mint marks - that I thought it could well be an addition to my collection! I managed to flick it out onto the floor with the toilet brush, then picked it up in some toilet paper and rinsed it in the sink. Unfortunately it was a 1999 French one, which I already had, so it just went into my spending money!

I'll will never argue with free money. I find a few pennies every week, occasionally I get a dime or a nickel as well, I once found an Alaska quarter on the ground at the grocery... and I immediately purchased an orange! It made me feel kind of cool that a quarter can still buy you something on its own. lol

I pick up anything. I was in Tempe, Arizona late last year, & discovered that they apparently do not value the dime there. I found as many dimes as I usually find cents!

I pick up ALL coins. I figure over my lifetime I will pickup at least a couple thousand dollars. Found two dimes right next to each other last week.
My biggest score was when I was in college walking to class. I cut through a parking lot and found about $350 US worth of German marks scattered in a parking lot over about 100 yards.

Eh, I'm a penny hoarder. I have a drawer in my closet filled with them, mostly zinc though. Someday I'll roll them and sell them, since the zinc ones aren't worth a penny anyway.

I cannot imagine what that penny has gone through. Honestly. A disposal? Heavy, radioactive acid? A Blenctec Blender? Jeesh!

I stop a pick up about any coin that I see, if its near. I found a small bank once when I was a kid and cleaning a flower bed. It contained 2 or 3 silver Dollars some WL and franklins about $9-10.00 in Silver coins, but they were common then.
10-12 yrs back I saw a woman driving around the corner with her purse on top of her car and it flipped when she sped up and there were $20,s flying all over the busy street. I'm trying to block cars and grab bills and her purse and wallet and found her name and called a returned most all. She just cashed her paycheck and only lost $20. Made me feel good

I will stoop to pick up anything, except maybe AndOr's sorry looking penny. But I would feel sorry for it.
A few months ago I stooped to pick up what I thought was a nickel in a sidewalk crack and it was a British 20 pence instead. That was a pleasant surprise.
