Thanks commems. I will give it a try! Beautiful image! Quote: Try scanning at 600 dpi and then use the CCF Image Optimizer to compress the image rather than using some other tool. The CCF Optimizer does a nice job compressing the images to the required size for display here. This CCF image tool is amazing but still had to go through photobucket to post. It is the only way I have known for some time now. Hope photobucket does not undo it!

I kinda like this coin, I do like colored coins. I think one can pick these up for less than the Perth Mint wants. One nice thing that I like is that this coin was released at the WMF.

Nice to hear yup7676.
In Aussie we have to pay 10% GST and our dollar is 10% lower than the US dollar.
No real news but it hurts us Aussie!

Australia's Remarkable Reptiles - Frilled Neck Lizard 2013 1oz Silver Proof Coin. Mintage 5,000 First coin in the series. There is a lot of very attractive coloured coins in recent releases from the Perth Mint at the moment. Like Australia Map Shaped Coin Koala , Australian Posters of World War I, Doctor Who Monsters, 100 Years of Australian Military Aviation. And that is in coloured silver coins only! The Remarkable Reptiles is one of those issues that has gone under the radar because of the recent releases it is competing with, so it would seem to me. I think it is needed to be remembered that this coin is also the 1st coin in the Remarkable Reptiles series. There are, and going to be, some very good prices for this coin at the present and a little into the future as they look like some are going to be dumped onto the market by the coin dealers for more salable items. At the Perth Mint this coin is $106.50 mailed. Last week I got one from a coin dealership for $95 mailed. This week I got 2, each under $70 mailed on ebay from the US. This is a coin I believe that is worth looking out for at present. Good prices for this coin should continue be found on line at ebay or at a coin dealerships. Good luck!

Have been reading CCF threads and the question keeps comes up about. What is the coins worth that I am collecting if the worst was to happen? Also another question is. Do I have enough knowledge to safely collect what I am collecting? And yet another. What is a good investment? Is this area of coin collecting a good investment? Personally I think there is heaps more profit to be had selling stamps with the budget I have but again you need the knowledge to make it work and have the sources to get great bulk lots. The drawback for stamp selling is it takes up heaps of time!Coins if you can get good, cheap, stock would seem to sell at a higher level over all and achieve the same profit with far less work than stamps. Colourised pure silver coins with very limited mintage suits my level of coin collecting knowledge spot on. I also think it is attractive to new coin collectors because of the knowledge issue. It also seems to be a very new and not so popular as yet, coin collecting area. There seems to be heaps of room for these types of coins to become more popular. The other area is if the worst was to happen I have the ability to sell the coins through our ebay store. This is a very important safety factor to it all for me as these coins are, for me, an expensive form of coin collecting. Colourised pure silver coin is very similar to the very modern stamps. Both have heaps of room to grow. These colourised coins could be said to be coins with a coloured stamp print on them. Maybe another reason for my attraction to collect these coins.

Discover Australia series of issues looks to be very much dead in the water. Of all the issues I have looked at on ebay from the Perth Mint these are the cheapest and are for sale in the greatest numbers. The prices are extremely cheaper on ebay than from the Perth Mint. Costs for year sets still on offer at the Perth Mint. Discover Australia 2011 Dreaming - " Five-Coin Silver Set more info...Limited mintage 7,500 AUS $ 495.00 Discover Australia 2012 Silver Five-Coin Set more info...Limited mintage 5,000 AUS $ 495.00 Discover Australia 2013 1oz Silver Proof Five-Coin Set more info...Limited mintage 5,000 AUS $ 495.00 This issue goes back a long way in years released. It looks to be a great release but it just seems to have not taken off. Strange! kg5

25 Euro colour anodized bimetallic coins, with a niobium centre and a silver outer ring, have been marketed to collectors who like that sort of thing.

On the 17th June 2014 The Perth Mint released the King George V â€" Centenary of Stamps 2014 1/2oz Silver Proof Stamp and Coin Set. At a price of AUS$99 After the 1st 3 days on sale this coin became unavailable and then available again the next day. I have just noticed this coin at the Perth Mint is unavailable on the 25th June. It was very popular silver 1/2oz at $99

Got my kg5 coin Friday from a coin dealer at the same price as the mint mailed. It is a really nice coin. I have been an Australian kg5 collector for a long time now. This coin take pride of place for me as a collector. It was very frustrating not having any spare cash when it was available by the Perth Mint and then it was unavailable after a week & a half & my heart sank because I missed it. All my cash was taken up with buying stock that was too good a price to refuse. But in the end I got this beautiful coin! The other coin set that I do not think I will ever be able to sell is the Australia Map Shaped Coin Series. As like my avatar!
