Thanks Trantor_3 and Susan for your replies. Going to work on some singles this evening and hopefully they will all find new homes? Probably send my first big one out to ND. Just wish it was done as it will be beyond putting in your pocket or stashing in a purse! Hopefully it will be fit for the KING of any display or collection.

Terry, That is a very nice design! What a great gift for the desk at work, the counter of the store, a table at a show or just a handsome method of display for the home! My understanding is you have a multi- holder as well! Best of luck marketing this. Mike

Terry, I don't know if you have a website or not, but here's an offer.

If you want, I will give you a page here on the site to sell your stand if you like. You can write the copy, and I will assemble, maintain, and promote the page for you. We can even set-up a Paypal shopping cart. It's pretty easy and its free.

Let me know.

Thank you Susan and Bobby. I liked the other side better as it is all dark walnut. I kind of figured Susan would like the light walnut as a front! Either way you can't lose as both sides of the coin are visible!

Trantor_3 I will use any kind of wood I can get my paws on. Currently have walnut, spalted maple, and cedar cut to size. Have a little redwood (rare), elm and hickory as well. If you have something in mind or would like to submit your own lumber thats fine as well. I am pretty flexible as long as the wood is "workable"! Thanks for the compliments from all of you.

Terry,

How critical is the size? Are you looking for the largest and smallest so you can design your holder to fit all. If this is the case the Coin World Shells would only represent another size.

Size is critical as they are made to fit each individual slab. I have found, in this past few days, some slabs are nearly the same size such as PCGS and ICG so the same holder would hold either. ANACS and SGS are also the same size but not sure who in their right mind would keep a coin in an SGS holder. I bought one for another collector and took the coin out without damaging the holder immediately upon arrival. Needless to say the SGS holder has slots on the sides to stick a screwdriver in and simply turn to pop it open.
In answering your question Catman, each holder is made to order, so to speak and as long as I have a sample slab of what anyone desires I can do it. Not sure where I stand, at this moment, with slabs but I do have PCGS, PCI, ANACS, SGS, NGC and ICG. I think that is correct? Anyway, where you been Catman? Never mind, I know, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"!

Just a quick note to thank Susan and Bobby for their efforts concerning these holders. They now have a few and more are in progress at this time. Looking forward to seeing if this coin collector has made something other coin collectors will want and need. Thanks to everyone for their opinions on these holders. It is and was appreciated.

Terry:

I found I had an ICG slab, but don't want to take the St. Gaudins out of it.

I used to buy coins from a Colorado Springs dealer who always tossed in a free slabbed Statehood Quarter. Don't know if I still have any of those left. I will look.

Thanks again for the great $2 Euro you sent. Am currently trying to decide the best way to display them.

Gary

Hi Gary, Glad you like the $2 euro! Spain turned out a nice one this time. It won't bother me a bit if you leave that St.Gaudens in the slab! Go ahead and send it!!!! I don't mind the extra weight!

Out of wood? I don't hardly think so but one can always find an attractive piece of plastic somewhere that will fit into a pocket and walk off. The whole idea is to be able to enjoy and admire some of your collection without fear of it disappearing and, if nothing else, having a way to keep that favorite coin OUT where you can admire the results of your hunt and wallow in your pride a bit. Some coins take years to find and purchase and throwing them in a box to hide isn't much of a reward for your efforts. I did check your recommended website and see no such offerings? Maybe I missed them somehow?
