It looks to me as if two small portions from each side have been sheared off.
However it may be a pinch type of mechanical interference.

Either way, I am almost 100% certain that it is Post Mint Damage, unfortunately.

robmck1967...I think what sel_69l is telling you is probably what happened...Maybe left over pieces of metal from the rim as it was squeezed..Dont think it is a Cud...ALL PMD
