Maybe RCM ought to lay off sending emails on a daily basis to everyone touting their new releases and send a few to guys like this suggesting they stop using their copyrighted images to sell fakes. Especially since RCM is paying DC Comics good money for the rights to use Superman's images.

Wow! This is scary stuff! I used to detest milk spots and tone spots on maples and especially on proof coins. Now I welcome them, since it assures me I've got the real deal... Think I'll skip the upcoming Superman set though, since the value of them will likely go down, with these multiple cheap fakes popping up so quickly ...

Well I am sure they would fake milk spots too if they thought they could sell more by doing it lol, probably not to hard to fake milk spots.

Not only is it illegal to sell theses, it's also a copyright infringement as mentioned above. I hope you're reporting these.

The market is filled with these fakes. Posted the topic on 05/02/2014 with very few listings, now it seems like their everywhere. One seller was trying to sell the fake set at $950 from the US.

Interesting how ebay has been able to wipe out every Cuban coin for sale on ebay (even banned selling from non embargo countries like Canada) and they won't do a thing about the abundance of counterfeit coins or copyright infringement.

Sorry to resurect an old forum. A somewhat reputable seller is listing a 2013 gold superman for sale on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/371550261281?_mwBanner=1The seller has assured me its real but the price and lack of documents has raised an eyebrow. The buildings underneath superman also appear to be the wrong colour. But this could just be lighting Can I ask the community for their expertise and opinions to validate the authenticity of this coin?

Quote: Thank you . can you point out any tells that show the coin is fake? I would say: 1. No COA - why? 2. Colours - might be light condition, but still suspicious. 3. For such coins the listings are usually with fixed price. The seller know, what wants to get for the coin. if I would want to sell it quickly, will put price of CAD 1200-1500, and it's all.

@ canuck. You're right.
The seller assured me several times the coin is genuine.
It was too good to be true. I have all the superman coins including the Tuvalu coins and 50th anniversary medallions. The only one I'm missing is this one.
