Quote: I stole this out of my brother's fish tank. Yes, I did. That could qualify it for a shipwreck recovery TPG label. Just send a photo of a sunken model sailing ship in the tank with the coin half under the ship in the sand to the graders. I'll kick off the year 1842 today with an AU-58 1842 Half Dime, CAC green beaned and an AU-50 1842 Large Date quarter. It was hard to get the true color of the Half Dime in this type of NGC holder. I might send it in to be reholdered so the coin would be easier to see. This quarter is one of my favorites. The toning is gorgeous.

Braided Hair Large Cent/Large Date (PCGS VF-25) I've also got the Small Date variety but haven't imaged it yet.

1842 NGC AU58 F-105 Diffused Lighting My own "True View" PCGS EF40 F-103 Experts Comments: Quote: 1842-O Reverse C is a left over die from 1841. It was previously labeled as Reverse D during usage in 1841.
1842-O Reverse C has degraded further with numerous die cracks and considerable weakness in the legend. It is likely that Reverse C was polished or lapped considering the reduction in wreath and legend details when compared to the bolder reverse strikes on 1841-O Medium O examples. Many circulated 1842-O examples are seen with the legend being barely visible outside of the wreath leaves. The position of the die crack through STAT(ES) is the primary diagnostic for this variety. Raw 1842-O

I'm skipping the 3 varieties of 1843 Large Cents. Unless the differences are obvious I won't post them. But here's another 1843 coin that I have:
