Cleaning my desk continues, picked this one up earlier this year, it is probably one of the larger straight clips I have.

How can you tell that this is a clip rather than a metal shear? If that was the planchet, why isn't more of the design in the voided area?

Hey Bill, both of these straight clips show Blakesley effect.

Bought this one in the spring (yes, it has been a while since I cleaned my desk). It is not very often I'll acquire a modern error circulated down to EF grade, but some error types are quite scarce, like incomplete punched planchet strikes, plus a small clip as a second error on this coin.

Another fun one... darn, no Blakeley Effect to be seen here... this is where learning other diagnostic criteria is important!

Still cleaning my desk, the errors number fewer and fewer as we get into the newer dates... This one is circulated as a nice AU, and a scarcer large clip.

A tough date for errors, this is the only striking/planchet error I have for this date.
