Cleaning my desk continues, picked this one up earlier this year, it is probably one of the larger straight clips I have. How can you tell that this is a clip rather than a metal shear? If that was the planchet, why isn't more of the design in the voided area?

Bought this one in the spring (yes, it has been a while since I cleaned my desk). It is not very often I'll acquire a modern error circulated down to EF grade, but some error types are quite scarce, like incomplete punched planchet strikes, plus a small clip as a second error on this coin. Still cleaning my desk, the errors number fewer and fewer as we get into the newer dates... This one is circulated as a nice AU, and a scarcer large clip.
