It's a coin with a Canadian flag painted on it. It cost $25 and it's worth a minimum of $25 forever, even if it may take a little effort to cash it in for the face value. But why buy it if you don't like it of want it? spelling corrected.

Quote: It's a coin with a Canadian flag painted on it. Doe to this, I will not buy the coin, that although costs $25, it still the "dead money". And about Canadian flag: in order to appreciate the symbolism, why not to buy the expensive silver dollar with our flag? And....the people who will buy the quantities to resell - for how much they estimate to sell the Canadian flag? Not healthy irony in selling national symbols.

To simplify the calculation process consider it as 40% return.

Guys, thanks for estimation.
But I meant for different. When at the same time you buying the coin from the patriotic motives, and from other hand, you want to sell the extras for a couple of bucks, don't you feel that you sell the National flag for $30?

Silveriod very interesting comment, until you stated it ln those terms, I never gave it any thought. I see it as a silver coin with a great image of our flag, but still a silver coin. Now a cloth flag I do feel the reverence for it. Prior to Canada day I go out and buy something with our flag on it, to show pride in Canada. I see so many items with our flag on it for sale a few weeks to Canada Day, I fail to think in your terms. I even have a cloth camping chair with the flag design. I believe people treat the actual Canada flags with reverence. However, the feeling isn't the same, when the image is printed on an item. It would be hard to fly this $25 dollar coin. I see it more as a keepsake, an addition to my Canada collection. Silveriod, your veiw does cause one to slow down and think a little more deeply. I appreciate your sharing your thoughts on the coin and I look forward to more of your insights.

You sell this flag no more than the superman, wolf, dinosaur, the queen (with every coin!), pope, lake Ontario, beaver, bunch of maple leaves, space station or you name it. However, when you keep it, then everyone has it own reason or reasons. And this coin I will keep with pride!

Basically, I am not hysteric about it.
Just historical fact/myth came to my mind, when one of the countries recovered from the WWII, one of the first their own cars planned to be called "Fatherland", while the leader came and asked: "And for how much do you plan to sell the "Fatherland" ? " -
the name was immediately changed.

What was the name change to? A very interesting tale. You do have great stories to share silveriod. I still cannot get over the fact you've only been collecting Nclt coins 4 yrs. You must be collecting general circulation coins much longer? When did you start coin collection and what types of coins? Much of your advice is very sage!

Thank you, Pocket_Change They renamed it the the "Victory" See, with my work in IT area, I spend minimum 9hrs daily near PC. And just imagine to yourself, started from simple ebay search like "Canada silver coin"....and I went through all the results, with pictures, with specifications.... As a kid / teenager I collected the world coins, simple affordable change. Then stopped, and after 20 years resurrected my addiction to the coins - started to keep our circulation commemoratives....and from here - just one step to the NCLT.

Silveroid wow IT, must take a lot of patience. I absolutely hate when I have technology glitches, as it takes a lot of patience and step by step troubleshooting. I applaud people whose brains are suited to working with IT, your a special breed. It one thing to use technology. It's totally different understanding how it works and what may go wrong and then fix it. My hats off to you and other IT professionals. I knew you must of collected circulation coins.

Silveroid: According to your statement, we could say that every time you sell a Canadian coin, you are selling the QUEEN !

More or less you right, Arianzo.
But, I said, that nor really hysteric about all of these. And there is a difference: an item, that came to represent the symbolism, and an item, that the country symbol is an mandatory attribute.(Like the "Canada" that appears on each and every our coin).
I not against sales of these coins - for dealers, CP and others - the sales is their bread. But personally I will not chase for more, than limit of 3 coins, in order to resell.
