Quote: 2014 1 Gram - Pure Gold - 50 Cents Maple Leaf Coin My New Years Resolution. 2015 will be a 50% or more gold buying year for me as half of my money spent on coin purchases will be in form of gold, mostly bullion but if I see some circulation /NCLT coins at decent prices I will buy some of those as well, I have an abundance of silver in my collection atm so a 50/50 gold/silver dollar amount spent ratio should bring my gold holdings up to where I think it should be. I am going to start earlier with some of these 1 gram maple leafs.

Silveroid, I did the math these 1 grams are appox the same as buying 1/10 . 3.131 grams = 1/10 oz gold maple leaf. cost $ 170 appox. 3 1 gram gold mapleleafs is $158. appox These are C/A prices so maybe you can find a 1/10 cheaper somewhere I didnt look. The 1/20 oz is 1.555 grams cost $91 So 2 1 grams minus a half a gram =$79 so its a better deal to buy the grams then the 1/20 oz. But your right the higher you go the less premium but my price range is 200 to 400 per month or more at time lol, I cant really do the 1/2 to 1 oz gold bullion and still be able to buy a silver NCLT here and there to fill my set of what ever etc etc. So keeping inline with my 50/50 rule I need to stay with fractionals. Its still gold only cost a bit more premium which I don't mind.

Thanks, Northerncoins, for exact calculation.
I just did it rough and was sure, that 1/10oz available for $150-$160 everywhere, and this price of 1gr it temporary sale.
So, you correct. I just not sure, that in future dealers will continue to offer these coins in separate and not as full sheet, while 1/10oz always available.

I don't think buying these in singles will be a problem in the future but I suspect the premiums will be higher , bottom line is dealers will sell whatever in which ever form to make money. Now will the RCM keep supplying these is another question but the same logic applies , if they are making money then they will keep producing them.

Ordered 4 of the 1 gram maple leafs, going to wait and see how they look etc before I decide if I will buy more but I suspect I will be buying more in the future unless the premiums get too high.

Thanks Silveroid! It gives a very good idea of how "micro" those coins are!

Too bad they don't have all 4 Maple Canopy's for $252 , then I might have to think about it a bit longer lol, but its not a bad deal I suppose, I pass though , don't need them as I have the first two now anyways, although I plan on giving them away as Christmas gifts this year, one for Mom and one for Dad.

Quote: Retail $349.80, our price $252.50! But issue price was $309.80 for those 4 coins. The $350 'retail' is on the high end IMO. The $38 2013 Vintage Superman is not bad; below issue price.
