you ignore your girlfriend and spend it with an "old" lady.

My neighbour's 16 year old daughter came home in tears; her 17 year old boyfriend ignored her at the party; talking solely to an "old"(she's no more than 50) lady who showed him a mint condition George VI halfpenny and told him she had a bag of halfpennies and pennies in similar condition at home.

I don't agree with his behaviour but I can understand why his head was turned.

I messed up my grammar in that sentence, but I think you get what I mean. The sentence made it seam like I post every minute in a thread.

JBuck,
Absolutely not.
What I would have done is express awe, got my girlfriend to look and taken the woman's name, address and phone number.

She (the heighbour's daughter) hasn't dumped him yet, though I suspect she might. Her mum's going to invite me round so that I can suggest a different course of behaviour to the lad.

When you turn on the news and see the flood/damage/destruction results of Hurricane Harvey down in Texas and think: Those poor coin collections down there. The heck with the wife, kids or house............get the coins out!

You wake up in the morning and then realise sadly that the George III cartwheel twopence dated 1798 that you were holding a few minutes ago was just a dream...
