Was it $18, too?

Ohhhh, how I wish.

The seller didn't take a very good picture of the coin in its slab (very dark), but it was TrueViewed by PCGS:

It is a very odd-looking Morgan. Some, no doubt, would replace the word "odd" with "ugly", but this one speaks to me. If you scroll through all the 1887 images in PCGS's database this one definitely sticks out like a sore thumb. To me, it looks like it's made out of stone. It graded MS63. I love the smoky gray color. I'll take my own photos when it arrives.

Even with silver up a bit, here's an example of what can still be consistently found in my area. Scarcer issue or high MS? No, but still definitely an unimpaired UNC, albeit a typically mediocre strike with a tiny rim ding on the obverse between 7 and 8 o'clock. Anyway, it set me back just a green portrait of Andrew Jackson today. My confession is that it was cherrypicked from the silver dollar "cull" bin consisting of mostly XF common Peace dollars and 1921 Morgans all at this same price point, with this one simply being easily the best of the bunch.

For what it's worth, I see that as of today, APMEX is selling their Peace/Morgan culls for $22.93 with free shipping. Of course, as opposed to rummaging through your local dealer's culls, you have no control whatsoever over what you get, but that price point is worth keeping in mind, anyway.

Hi all, I've been away for a while. I talked to my retiree friend and as I was able to sell over $400 worth of his coins, he is going to set me up at $15 a Morgan/Peace. Now you saw the earlier pics that I posted of what I bought from him and what he has left is around the same or a bit worse. I figure at 15, I'll take them all slowly.

For 15 dollars a piece I would take them all quickly!

I picked this one up for $30 today. With some nice rim toning on both sides. Don't see Peace dollars looking like this very often for that price. Its not an MS65 by any means, but its definitely MS. Had to snag it for the Dansco 7070.

Pics are not great....taken with iPhone 6+.

$30 for that Peace dollar? Dang, now THAT is a score. I would have bought that on impulse.

I just have to pull together the money to buy them all. He has around 15 that he is willing to sell and I'm still recovering from the very expensive anniversary and then Valentine's Day expenses. But I will be buying them and I'll share pics as I pick them up.
