Well he is a very legit seller. I dealt with him very often. I think he's just having a little fun ... nothing wrong with having fun in the coin collecting industry, because it can be a little too serious at times !!

Are you sure you're not the seller? You have the same name. If you are, it's just shameless self-promotion by how this thread has go.

Anyway, business is not for having fun. If you're misrepresenting something to get more money, it's fraud.

Agree with Slur on that, too much of this baloney going on I agree on the fun part but no way is it funny when I see an ebay listing like that and shame on ebay for allowing this stuff. Id like to see how funny it is if a law firm dropped a class action suit on them ..im staying away from ebay and if more of us did the same they might get the message. A small step can matter....

I was going to mention that too..both from Quebec.
A little bit of fun maybe but I think he's muddying up his own waters. Good feedback and lots of good coins..why this stuff?

Well actually I am the seller of this coin !! Although I did receive a number of emails from people saying how it is such an interesting and good conversation piece, I guess not all people share the same feelings. Several emails were also very funny which was my overall objective in posting this. I never intended to sell this piece at any ridiculous price or to upset people, this is why the price I posted was so exaggerated !!

The pictures posted are authentic (not doctored) and there is a very visible dot and the shadow of the ''3'' seems to be lower than it should, this is because of the distortion made by the 200X microscope when zooming in on specific area of the coin.

However, that being said, since several of you do not agree this posting as adding a bit of humour to coin collecting, I will be shutting it down.

I am still contemplating if I should send it to a TPG and get an opinion to see if they can get more details with their more sophisticated equipment.

I still believe you need to have a little ''Fun'' to run a business (or in my case have a hobby) or in your career, otherwise you risk being miserable all your life.

I would be more than happy to get advice from anyone on where I should send this piece... if it all ... ICCS, CCCS, PCGS, etc.

Thanks for your input !!

Lol..havin a little fun on the forum too eh. I have a good sense of humor too..no worries.
The dime has no date at least I cant see it, there is a piece of metal there but was it pushed up from a bad scratch long time ago and worn back down, or is it a dot? Either way it needs a date.

I see nothing "Fun" about it. You give no indication at all in the listing that it was a joke and if somebody would've bought it, you'd have taken every penny from the poor sap. Then you come here and try to promote yourself pretending it's not you until someone caught you. Shame on you. I'm embarrassed to be a member of the same forum as you.

Don't agree PawnS
He bucked (owned) up to it didn't he? He could have stayed hidden and waited for a bite but he didn't. Did you seriously read the ad? it says.. 'You decide', with 7 days money back and 100% feedback, how bad could it be if you got that kind of dough to take a gamble with. Besides who in their right mind would take such a gamble there is NO Date.

I second PawnS. If some idiot pressed that BIN button trusting you, you would've taken all his/her money.

There is a time for fun, there is a time where you shouldn't have fun. Business, especially this kind, is no time to have fun. If it's for your own hobby, it's fine, but it looks like you are actually trying to fraud people in your listing.

If you get the impression through this post that I'm cynical, well I'll let you know I don't have a miserable life.

Pennyman, I see it this way: coconet made a ridiculous listing. He "stood up" for the seller, AKA himself. Then he ended the listing when found out. I see it as trying to save face.
