Personally, I believe buying high grade PL Canadian coins by PCGS is a total waste of money.
First of all, the market for ICCS graded Canadian PL coins is barely breathing right now, even worse than the business strike market.
Secondly, there's not a snowball's chance in you-know-where that ICCS would cross grade the PCGS grade for PL coins.

Also, any cameo designation by PCGS? To echo doubleeagle59, I know from experience, that ICCS will rarely crossover from the PCGS grade, if ever. Years ago, I had many PCGS PL dollars cross graded to get the cameo designation by ICCS, and without exception, they came back lower grade in a ICCS flip. The good thing was I hardly paid anything for them as they were from the Collector's Universe site in the early years of PCGS/CU when not too many collectors knew about the site

But most likely it was not a PL coin.

Nice addition dollarman with the 1956 PL66. I'm sure your gonna like it. Same as what I have PL66. The only way I could see a PCGS grading 2 points higher than ICCS is the PCGS holder must have been a OGH (old green holder). I have a few OGH PCGS graded coins and if I were to break them out and send to ICCS, I am confident some of them would grade at least a point higher.

i could see why 1949 would be the beginning of PL, you know because of the commemorative importance.

doubleeagle, you are correct, it was a circulation strike 1859 cent.
wireman, actually I was very surprised because the pcgs slab was done within the last couple tears.

Hi Dollarman- You wanted pictures? Here are some of my PL Dollars. The 58 has a nice golden tone that does not show. Need 3 more to complete the set. Hard to shoot through two pieces of plastic. Dollarman- When are we going to see some of your photos?

Your right Dollarman- I need the 50,51 & 52. Have the 49. They are available on ebay but are fairly expensive. Guess I will just get them one at a time.

The reason for the extreme prices on high grade PCGS PL coins is the competition among registry set players. It's all about that number on the plastic. Buy it, put the cert # into your online PCGS registry set, move up in the rankings above other people doing the same thing.

That 1957 is pretty impressive! That date is notorious for being very poor quality.
