i buy what is cheap at the time. right now, copper coins, nickel coins, and older silver. when gold goes back down to maybe $400-500 /oz, i'll stock up on that

important is how I voted. My collection is part of my retirement along with 401 k, ira stocks etc. I will sell and buy coins for profit but my keys are not for sale.

also I consider any coin $500.00 or more a major investment. Once coins are this price I lean towards graded mostly. All keys must be problem free and graded.

im never selling; my coins are going to be in my will when I'm dead, hopefully in 70+ years. then, my heirs can be millionaires which probably wont mean much with inflation.

i would say important...i would like to see them increase of course, but I'm not going to jump off a building if they only hold their value.

I voted somewhat important.

I've paid too much for a coin I really wanted.

I've bought coins with the intention of selling them.

Overall I hope and expect coin values to rise.

I voted not important. My pension and stock investments are for investment. My coins are a hobby. Most of my older coins are vf they look nice to me anyway, but do not command huge prices and probably never will.

I collect for the enjoyment it brings, if I was doing it for investment, I would have to worry if the price of a coin spiked upwards or downwards.
