I separate out the S cents and throw all 40's and 50's P and D into a cigar box. Unless they are uncirculated, they are worth only a few cents each. But they are still fun to find and collect. Anything from before 1940 goes into a separate container. I only put nice ones into my albums. The rest are mixed together. Someday I will let my grandchildren go through them.

A friend gave me one of those headwear with the magnifier. It is great for looking at a lot of coins quickly, and no hands. I highly recommend it, especially for roll searching.

Is there a list of key dates for pennies on this site, or a link to something? I got a huge amount of pennies when my Dad passed away in February (they were my grandfather's coins) and want to see if there is anything of value. They are in rolls by year, as well as in plastic yogurt containers as well.
Rest in Peace

I had 12 coffee cans full of pennies. Mostly 60's, 70's 80's and 90's in can. I have found a few earlier dates. I'm seperating now. I have so many with green stuff on them. So I am seperating the bad from the good. I plan on keeping all the earlier ones and 60's, 70's up to 82's.
