CANADA 2014 $5 BALD EAGLE Birds of Prey 1 Oz 0.999 SILVER GILDED
Only 100 mintage! with CoA , Cheap at $150 CA Thank you, Northerncoins I do respect, whatever other people collect, just can not share the excitement. For the "Burning Maple" I dislike over-enchancement: it covered with Ruthenium, gilded and painted. Ruthenium+gild looks ok, but not the flames, imo.

The Black Ruthenium /gilded/flames 500 mintage maples I really like and appear to have a fair amount of work to produce them where as the just gilded coins dont do much for me, plus the gold gilding would only cost less then $1 with no extra process other then a bit of gilding apply time.

im not into the 3rd party colour enhanced coins. I bought one colour enhanced libertad and all it is was a thin almost film like "sticker" put on the coin. No actual colouring just stickering.....would be afraid that the fire is the same way on these......

This is interesting... I dont like the coin however, not into this style. What is interesting tho is prices are running higher in auctions. First you have the initial list price. The more auctions you see and the more you see prices staying high or going higher, these are the type coins that usually continue to grind higher. Typically what I see, (which reminds an awful lot like trading) is prices that start high, once you get a few auctions out there, the price keeps grinding higher from the start. Coins that auction and start to drop in auctions lower from their initial list price, continue to drop lower. Pretty simple. Does anyone know what the original list price was for this coin? I am not interested in this coin but if I was, and I saw how high auctions are going on ebay, I would place a pre-order with that dealer on ebay right now. These are the few type coins that run higher in price and keep grinding higher as time goes on Hope everyone that wants one gets one before they end up much higher.

Quote: Does anyone know what the original list price was for this coin? If you speaking about Burning Maple, so there wasn't "initial price", or let's say like this: when it was minted (clear SML), it became available for CAD 20+. After enchancement was done - Power Coin Italy started to distribute it, and people from the other forum organized a Group Buy, getting these (coins) for CAD 90-100 (do not remember). I not sure, if the coins have been shipped, but you can refer the CAD 90-100 as initial price.

@silveroid
ahhh I get you. I know what you mean tho, 90-100 CAD ok makes sense. I have seen other coins like this, then they get an enhancement by say a german mint, I think there was the 25th anniversary maple leaf that they did a couple special things too, did 500 pieces and it was a runner.
I was looking at completed auctions and I did a brief look, not sure if these included shipping or not but basis price, in USD,,,but they start at 84ish and go all the way to 156ish.
I will keep an eye out, but again, I think you buy the pre-order price and it should run higher from there.

Sometimes, the stuff that good for resale, is "average" for colletion.
Do you remember disappointment with those 15 anniversary enhanced Maples? They where gild by the same company, like all resent and previous enchantments, done Box and COA included, production - 500 units. So, yes, they where "running good". And what happened next? Someone, or same company, did the same, same quality gilded 25 Anniversary Maple Leaf, just without mentioned mintage, and no fancy packaging and Certificate.
Imagine what felt buyer that paid couple of hundreds for "unique limited mintage issue".

I bought 2 from Justfishing's GB for CAD$90 each plus shipping CAD$10 for first coin & CAD$5 each from 2nd coin and on.
Therefore I paid CAD$97.50 each = USD$76 including shipping.
I like the design on this coin.

SO I was digging around here in ebay on recent auctions and yea looks like roughly it started 103 and it just has taken off from there. So unless you can find one that a dealer has moved up in price, as one poster did, your best bet is to wait for auctions to participate in. In any case, this looks like a runner of a coin. The only thing that would stop this is like Silveroid mentioned, some other outfit producing a similar type coin, like maybe without a case or fancy packaging,, I will be watching this coin from here on out because I think it still will retain its value as it climbs.

Expect to see the mint which produced this coin/enhancement to do it to the 2015 maples as well,could be a yearly release , lets hope they don't get stupid like the RCM and increase the mintages and kill the demand.
