@ Blunden - the holder measures 12x12 inches. It's going to be neat to have a complete Ike set that can be viewed all at once, without having to sort through slabs or turn pages in an album. There is just one thing about these capital holders, though. It's as if they made the slots for average circulated coins. Mint state Ikes, especially the silver business and proof Ikes, don't fit perfectly into the holes. They stick out a bit. It's kind of bothersome to me, but I can live with it. I don't know of a safe way to force them in without using a hammer.

Quote: I want one of those. I would immediately get rid of my album. I don't understand, why not just start a 2nd set?

A second set in this Capital holder is on my long list of things to do, but I will never surrender the Eisenhower Dansco. It was my first complete album and the sentimental value is through the roof.

Time for an update to this one, guys. I am extremely close now. Just one more to go. A 1972-P is on the way. It should be here on Monday. It feels mandatory that I should show the holder with the last hole still empty. Don't know why. I'm still on the look out for the blue version of this holder. I'm resisting the urge to pay $80 through Wizard. If only they made this in red. Then I could have a patriotic red, white and blue series of Ike dollar sets.

That looks pretty awesome! If you don't mind me asking; about how much did the set run you?

Quote: Anyone know when CP starting making this model? About 1979 or 1980 when the Mint announced that this series was ended. Quote: I want one of those. I would immediately get rid of my album. Online coin supply companies have this holder in white, black, and blue for $78 and some change. Or, you can browse ebay and find an NOS one like DarthMorgan for a lot less. He got this at a great price. Quote: I don't know of a safe way to force them in without using a hammer. The older holders had a single slip of paper telling how to assemble by lining up the alignment marks on one edge. Then there was a folded slip of paper with additional instructions describing how to enlarge the hole if the coin does not sit down in it properly. There is a triangular coin fitting tool you can buy for scraping the inside of the hole until the coin fits. I've seen them they are low grade steel and rusty, not something I would use. I use a small pocket knife with a very sharp blade to scrape, not cut, the opening and check fit often so the hole is just right and the coin is not loose. If the coin is too loose then a piece of mylar can be used to shim it. Quote: If you don't mind me asking; about how much did the set run you? Click on the ebay link in the first post of this thread.

Absolutely amazing accomplishment! I look forward to seeing at least one more photo when that last hole is filled.
