Take it to one of those dealers and ask him to send it in for authentication. If you do it the cost will be much larger than if they do it. Not much to loose if it turns out to be real.

I really can't make any conclusive assessment of your Buffalo nickel until I can view it with better photos.

I was talking to one dealer and he said for a premium they can send my coins in and get back 1 plus better grade. not sure if its actually true. and its only guys that send in hundreds at a time.

I don't see how sending in hundreds of coins and paying a premium would make it possible to get a better grade. A coin is what it is and if by paying a premium gets a better grade then I wouldn't use that TPG because they aren't honest and only after a dollar amount.

Neo13x- You couldn't have said it better. that's like a service station saying to a customer ; for $25 I'LL put an inspection sticker on your car. no problem !

Really

Find out from him which TPG company offers this special. I'm curious because I haven't seen this offer in any of PCGS, NGC, or ANAC's literature.

Clearly a fantasy piece.

Why do you say that? If it is because the designs are backward that's due to the photography not the coin. Notice all the writing on the holders is backward as well.

I will agree though that the images are not good enough to give a definitive opinion as to whether it is polished or proof.

If I knew who that dealer was I'd see about getting them banned from any professional association they may be in. That's conduct unbecoming.

oh I agree 100percent. It just seems that if its true its a harsh reality. I have never heard such a statement. the guy I talked to said he only sends in about 10 at a time, and knows another dealer who receives better grades for same coins usually +1 grade, just because he is forking over more cash to whatever TPG he uses. I think its ngc.

Everybody knows someone who's getting better grades from a TPG than they are. Nobody is actually that someone, as far as we know. Heck, the guys at the very top of the food chain were getting beaten so badly by crud grading that they formed CAC to identify the coins which actually deserved the grade. That should say something about preferential grading.
