Being a superstitious being I always carry a silver round in my pocket when roll hunting. I feel it brings me luck. When my luck starts to fade I switch out that round and grab a different one.

Any funky rituals any of you partake in before starting out the day of roll hunting?

Yes, I always look at the rest of the roll before flipping over the Wheat penny to see the date. I also pray to based god, look him up if you don't know, LOL.

Always flip over the Wheat cent last. Always. If you dont, it will be a common date cent from the late 50's

i like to open the rolls in order, long way, so 10 rolls in a row. If I go out of order, I expect bad results :-)

When I get a good box, my wife helps. When she wants extra luck, she has the cat smell the roll. If the cat smells the roll, there's silver in it.

At least that's the scientific theory...

When I find a silver , I leave it out on the work space, to "attract" more silver in the following rolls. Seems to be working

Always lick the first silver, if you don't have cats. Brings good luck!

I know better. All the quantum fluctuations in the universe will not change the cards in your hand finds in your box.

Not really superstition, but I try to go to different bank branches to improve my chances of them having something good in the teller tray, as I never have enough cash on me at once to buy coin boxes.

I find some of the rituals to be very funny. I have not developed a ritual yet.

When I get coin rolls, If I have a mix of machine wrapped rolls and customer wrapped rolls, I always open all the MWR rolls before the CWR rolls. Then, I open the remaining rolls according to the newest looking wrapping paper to the oldest looking wrapping paper, especially the old solid colors.

I take my little cup of junk silver and rattle it 9 times, my lucky number. Always averages me about 1 silver nickel per $50
