I've tried to place an order, but it was not successful: We are sorry, but we are unable to process your payment and submit your order this time. No charges were made against your credit card or other selected payment method. Please try again in a few moments or call our Customer Service Center for help. Thank you for your patience.

To the people who got shipping notices. Did you choose expedited?

I did not choose expedited shipping.
My shipping charge was $4.95.
I have a tracking number and everything seems correct.
Should be here this week it seems.

And as someone stated earlier I think those 26k orders were not all march of dimes that is where your numbers are not adding up

It's also being assumed that the mint is using a sequential numbering system with each number representing one order. It's possible that some numbers are being skipped based on computer timing issues. It's perfectly OK to skip a number, but absolutely not allowable for two customers to get the same order number. It could also be that an order number was created each time a person attempted to press confirm after entering their credit card information. Though some orders actually didn't get placed and resulted in page not found errors, the order number may have been used. For me it was seven fails before success. The bottom line here is that we can't assume every sequential number is being used. Quote: And as someone stated earlier I think those 26k orders were not all march of dimes that is where your numbers are not adding up Correct but I see where he is coming from. Even if normal mint ordering generated 5-6k orders that were not for the MOD set that would still leave around 20k MOD orders and those 5 per HH's make up for quite a few ones and twos....(my two households got 5 each ) The only assumed fact is the number of orders....which were not reported that I know of so the 26k could be weak data Point is that if you want a set and don't mind waiting a while to get it ignore the "sold out" proponents and just order it...

Quote: I've tried to place an order, but it was not successful If it is not a hassle I would call the Mint (Skype) and ask them directly... I will add that both my Germany collector friends have an APO address which would make a big difference...

@Foxwood I have an U.S. forwarding address, but it is no good with my credit card. It is too much of a hassle and costly to call them, even via Skype. My internet connection is not that fast and the bandwidth is expensive. However, let's see what happens. I will try again later.

^ If you place an order using a foreign credit card the order has to be shipped to the billing address - been there before...

@omxfl I did use the local billing address, but it still failed. I normally only use my US forwarding address when I make payments via PayPal.

In addition, the US Mint has previously shown that they cannot be trusted with credit card info. I've just deleted my credit card info with them. Hopefully hackers didn't steal the info as they did the other day.
