There will only be 17k produced of each C&C set (with the exception of 25k of the Kennedy C&C set). These will be smoking hot. Thanks for beating me to that comment...."quantities produced"? 17,000 for a low priced modern is just unheard of ....and comparing a modern to a high priced dollar issued around 150 years ago is just weird...TOTALLY different beast that took 150 years to be where it is would I rather have the Liberty? Duh yes, but find me one for around $60 and guarantee it will at least double in value in a year or less Edited to add: no way on the colorized coins...

Please no colorized coins. The quality of the proofs coming out of the mint is poor now, mainly due to dust and particles. I can't imagine how the colorized coin QC would be. Plus, they just don't look good. They're kind of like a smoking hot chick with a tattoo. It makes her/them look cheap.

What is wrong with tattoos? Anyway, I am with the consensus. This is one thing I do not want to copy from the Canadians. Killing off the cent? Yes! Killing off the one and two dollar notes? Yes! Colourized coins? Nooooooo!

Probably later in the year (2016), after the dollar is released.

Sorry folks gotta disagree with you on colored coins. I recently started taking an interest in Canadian coins and this one coin "Ice Dancer" really got my attention and I'm starting to like colored coins. The US Mint is behind other world mints until they start offering them.

The Teddy Roosevelt set total is 15,145.
The FDR set is still for sale and sits at 12,882.
I feel a lot better about that 17,000 limit now.

Enough of the reverse proofs. The 1st few were interesting novelties, even made good use of the two finishes. Mow everything has to be RP
RP is the new P
so who cares

I love the reverse proof in the silver eagles and plan on getting the reverse proof in the Kennedy set. Anything past that president wise, I dont plan on getting. I'd like to see some gorgeous reverse proof commeratives outside the world of sports, military or presidents.
As far as colored coins go from the US Mint, I could go either way. I've bought some from Canada and Australia over the years and really liked those. So odds are if the US Mint did them and I liked the designs, I'd get them.

I have stated it elsewhere, but I will say it again. My interest in these C&C sets is for the medal; it is not for the reverse proof. I actually do wish they used the normal proof, if only to be consistent with the two previous C&C sets.

This is all a test to see if the new Mint website can handle 17000 orders in a minute. There is zero chance those sets last the 1st day, even if they drop the limit to one. Can't wait for June 30th, to the victor goes the spoils, tally ho.
