The stock 1885 looks to my eye like it originated from a Chinese mint ... Check out the "rounded" numerals in the date. The overall flatness of the strike and off-colored surface add to my suspicion. Anyone else think so?

One thing I have learned with ebay over the years probably applies here. If in doubt, if AT ALL in doubt about a coin or a seller - walk away, move on, say no more. If your instincts tell you something is fishy, follow those instincts. Maybe you are wrong, but maybe you are right and there are plenty of other opportunities on ebay to get what you want from a reputable seller.

Very well put KenKat. I'm seeing red flags all over this
