Word. I think what I'll do is put a gold-plated in the hole with a callout that says "go look in the safe". Oh wait, what hole?

Thanks, chettieyy! While not particularly hard to find, people seem to want a lot of money (relatively) for the 73S Ag Proof. "Key date" or something silly.

Just be glad you were not filling this set in the 1980s.

Silver spot wasn't exactly outrageous in the 80's so I'm guessing these were just highly collectible at the time?

I will need to dig out some old issues of Coins, COINage, or Coin Prices (or perhaps someone can find something sooner), but prices in the 1980s were crazy high. I seem to recall the 73-S 40% proof hovering around $100~$150 at one point.

Your welcome bud.... Now you have given me the motivation to stop being lazy and just buy it finally so I can finish and admire the completed set myself.. Like you said its not particularly hard to find, I guess my problem is everytime I go to local LCS's I drool over other coins and buy those instead of paying attention to my list and what I am supposed to be buying.. Is it me or does anyone else have this problem?

Yeah. One wonders if Ikes will ever rebound or if that was just a natural spike due to the newness of them at the time.

Do it! I am a list person, so for me, seeing that on my numismatic to-do list for 6 months finally got me to kick my butt into gear and finish it.

When I'm not operating off a list, yes. Even with a list I have the following tendency:

Sweet! This would definitely be a more expensive set to put together back in 1984 with those prices!

Though I'm a bit confused with the listings:

71S Silver, 72S Silver, and 76S Silver have prices under MS-60 (for BU / blue I assume) and under PRF-65 (for proof / brown I assume).
73S Silver and 74S Silver only have a price under PRF-60.

In that guide where would one find the price for 73S & 74S BU Silver Ikes?

It's also missing 71S, 72S

Not that it really matters given the age of this guide, just wondering.

Yeah, I noticed that the 1973-S and 1974-S 40% business strike were missing. Must be a misprint?

Remember, no CuNi clad version of 1971-S and 1972-S proofs, only 40% proofs those years.

Oh, it is a misprint. Note the 1973-S and 1974-S CuNi clad business strikes!

I knew something had to be shifted. I counted 32 prices, so if two were missing they were in the wrong spot!

Although, the shifted prices seem a bit low.

Oh, right.

I guess people made mistakes back in the 80's as well as the teens/10's/whatever this decade is called
