Wondering on price? 1 ounce, 38 mm. This is made for European Mint and distributor Modern Numismatics International by the RCM.

It appears in the CP catalogue - thanks to members from other forum - if I remember correctly, priced CAD 150

Seriously? With falling silver price - now below $15 US per oz. it is increasingly difficult to justify paying 100+ CAD even with lower mintage and pretty colors. Some analysts give silver a target between $5 and $10 per oz with a long term support level of $7.50 (Forbes.com). Who knows? I've been a long time supporter of NCLT but with such a high mark up over base metal I am very disappointed.

I realize that collecting NCLT shouldn't be considered an investment... But it shouldn't be considered a money pit either.

As long as enough people are buying they wont drop the prices, they dont even have to sell the full mintage to make a decent profit at these prices.

If no one buys then they will have to lower prices, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

Silver dropped again today... I'm staying on the sideline.

I noticed the RCM dropped its price on Canadian Maple Leaf 1/2 oz. Silver Coin (2015)... maybe more to come.

"More to come" maybe.
But "Maple Leaf Forever" probably planned, but not really popular series. Has also relatively big mintage, not complex design and finish. I think, Mint just tried to increase it popularity by reducing mintage and price. And this didn't happen with any other coin (might be amount of Annual proof / specimen sets reduced).

So right...there is no sense to pay neither $100 for the coin at RCM nor $50 for the same coin (just because it reduced) on the secondary market.

I've been away for a while so I lost touch with what is popular.

By this I actually meant that since 2011 all the editions of the series available from everywhere for issue and less (and the issue price is low and affordable).

As comparison from the same range - the "Birth" series is more popular.

2015 Canada - The Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz $20 Pure Silver Coin
Maple Leaf shaped

Coins.4.Fun managed to get some and listed them (as usual, first seller) as Pre-order!

Since they were minted for other mint, interesting, how many of them secured for Canada.

There is a new ANA Chicago Privy Silver Maple Leaf coin coming in August and the mintage is only 5,000. The price is only 79.95 too which is quite a good deal considering the coin has a low mintage. That's the second lowest minted SML with a privy since the Tulip (3,500). I'll be getting one for sure.

this is true.

But in the 2014 we had Chicago ANA Privy SML, mintage 7500
No need to do deep search, in order to guess, that possible to get it below issue.

If the privy mark of 2015 will be same as for 2014 - imo, no big deal its 5000 mintage.

Added:
almost forgot :
2014 WMF Berlin privy SML (7500) - issue and below
2014 Non Privy Enhanced Edition Replica SML (20.000) - half an issue price

Thanks for clarification and update.

Could be interesting, but for first time I have to say :
(since it still SML) with current silver price crash, buy 1oz for CAD 80.....only if you collect SMLs / Privy SMLs.

The non-MC collectors can look at the coin images (and pre-order) at The Coin Shoppe store.

The august coins listed there as Pre-release.
No purchase limit even for most limited coins!
