yes I got a box of pennies a few weeks ago and I was trying to change from my friend's rolls to the pennies box so I can take back to the bank to get another one and that's what I found.

thanks Slambass and SilverStakerKid, I don't know how many I didn't check in all my years searching.All I've always done with the 1983's was to look at the date and weight them looking for the big one and tossed them back to the bank, but after I saw the" traildies" yesterday I started to look with the magnifier on the reverse of every coin, so I guess thanks to that post I found these one.

Good timing. Many of us have flipped thousands of 1983s and haven't hit pay dirt. So this one is very likely the only one to come by you. Chances are very good that one didn't slip through earlier.
