I'm in the EF-40 camp, cleaned at some point. I agree acetone may work wonders on the black gunk.

Hi guy, sorry first time user, so thanks for your feedback. I don't like cleaning my coins, but given the feedback, thought id just give a rinse with lightly soapy water and lathered with fingers so it doesn't scratch, then thoroughly rinsed with water. Certinly didn't remove the black crust, but generally increased appeal. Will upload a couple pics

Also worried about the S mint mark, comparing it to Jacks examples, thinking it should be slightly higher and more to the right :(

Actually don't worry about my last comment, stupidly I now realise it was the angle I took the pics, making the Ming mark look out of line and adding shadow. Been looking into Grading, but would be up for over $100 ex Australia, so will stew on that for a bit longer :)
