With the larger images, I starting to see something that doesn't make it a small date. The ends of the 7 & 9 are blunt. (which is what the large dates have. Note shtudentt's coin. The east side curl is pointed on the 9. With the image rotated it makes the Lower part of the 7 showing. So I'm learning more on the Large date now. a close up of the 9 might show us if the center was pushed as Agrippa mentioned. So closer images please. (the upper horizontal of the 7 is also what I need to see)

The nine looks like a small date nine, but LIBERTY is strong as seen on the large date, the rest of the date, like the position of the seven, looks like a large date. I think the nine must have taken a hit somewhere along the way and this is a large date cent.

This looks like a large date since the very second it was posted. That 0 sits way to highhhhh

yes, that 0 is way too high. You can see it sticking out of the rectangle posted earlier. Unless there's a new "medium" mutant, it's LD.

LD. The 0 is too high and LIBERTY too strong. I also agree that the devices are blunt not sharp. My first impression was LD with a tactical ding on the 9. A better picture would remove all doubt.

Ok this is above my lincoln pay grade so I'm bowing out but does this mean the horizontal 9 crossbar terminus as opposed to diagonal is not an indicator then?

Unfortunately, This is a 1970S Large Date Cent. Here are 2 pic's of the coin turned upside down. The top of the 7 is below the top of the Zero on the top and base of the 7 extends below the base of the Zero on the bottom   Edited by chuckster 125

Yeah with a straight on pic of the date, it sure looks like a LD to me.

This is a very confusing coin for me, because the 0 and the 9 seem the same height and the 1 and the 7 seem the same height. So is that LD or SD?
