I'd like to echo what Arael said, TC. I hope you'll sleep on it, and make a final decision later. I believe everyone here would completely understand your choice if you opted not to return, but I do hope you'll stay. You're clearly held in high esteem.

I do not necessarily agree with your decision, TC, but your choice has my respect. Thank you for all of your contributions to this forum.

I don't know exactly what happened. However, let me say that I for one have found the members and moderators on this site to be patient; invaluably helpful. I have learned so much this last year and really appreciate everyone's efforts. That said we all need to remember that e-mails, texts, and non verbal cues can easily be misinterpreted and I respect that the person in question apologized for whatever wrongs were done. This forum, is the difference between day and night compared to others. The moderators and those that run it are more Trajan than Domitian. I hope we can all move forward and get back to the issue at hand, Numismatics.

I also have no idea what happened but would like to encourage TC to reconsider.

TC, your grace, gratitude and good nature are a great asset to the community here and would surely be missed.

Unfortunately the world is full of " raggy dolls " and " evolutionary mongols " TC.
It doesn't matter where you go or what you do in life, there will always be ONE lurking somewhere
Whatever decision you make will get my full support TC.
Rest in Peace

I have been in church groups workplace groups and car clubs where human political mistakes have been accidently or deliberately made. Everybody has experienced angst at sometime or other.

I am an apolitical person, and as a matter of principle, will not involve myself in such situations if I can avoid them. In some situations you just cannot escape, especially if you find yourself at to centre of a furore.

Probably best to just take some time out and get over the hurt, and come back slowly.
That is what I usually do.
Most of the time your enemies dissapear due to action being taken, or simply melt away, but that is not always the case.
That's life, and I don't have all of the answers.

One of the things that stinks about communicating online is that the meaning of what we say is only partly in the words; the rest is in your body language, your tone of voice, your facial expression, your eyes, and lots of other things that we humans subconsciously discern but that don't translate well to text. In real life, most of the time, a person can tell if you're being serious, sarcastic, humorous, angry, teasing, whatever emotion...online..not so easy.

I have learned since the usenet days that when speaking online it is always better to avoid ambiguity, and clarify the connotation of your text, by means of emoticons, emoji, or whatever, or by abbreviations like 'JK'. It's VERY easy to misinterpret the meaning behind something someone has typed, especially depending on what kind of a mood you're in.

Just a thought. AB

I turn my attention elsewhere for a few days and miss all the fireworks !

TC I have no idea what went down but since you have so many good friends about it would be a shame for you to not be around to make the forum complete !

Usually I find it is I who have been banished for the crime of 'lese majeste' !
In my genetic makeup I suppose ! My second cousin (Hans) found himself sitting inside of Buchenwald looking out for two years for a similar sort of offense. Bad jokes can be a hazardous pastime !

We are not all from the same country and don't have the same set of references as to what is funny and appropriate.

Could have been part of the issue here perhaps.

When I first joined here I was posting in a forum, it wasn't American coins and I didn't even notice.

Anyway it was about smart water and using it to clean coins as opposed to regular water or maybe distilled water.

Pretty boring honestly.

There was talk about the electrolytes making the water smart.

Now as a huge fan of the movie Idiocracy, there is a great youtube clip involving electrolytes and the beverage Brawndo.

I posted the clip thinking it was funny. It was, to an American.

Apparently it wasn't funny to anyone else and got edited out. In hindsight, if you haven't seen that movie or the memes from it online, it kind of looked like me calling them stupid. I didn't really see that until it got yanked though.

Not really sure what happened here, but sometimes just because we both speak English, it doesn't mean we are saying the same things.

Haha I think I remember that thread. It was a great reference, but the internet being the medium that it is I can see how it would be misunderstood. Great movie though.
