Well, I have been too busy to post since March 17 now. As I have mentioned before, I also hand out $2 bills and with our about $650 per week being handed out at the farmers markets and bill paying, I have exceeded the remaining amount for the current $2 bill challenge and am wondering if there is a new one. The flood damage I mentioned last time has not yet been repaired as it is hard to get the money and time to do so, but it needs to happen very soon or we will not have enough vegetables to sell. The 40 acres of cropland I lost looks like it can be restored, but at great cost. Labor is short too. Life has not been remotely easy lately.
Now switching back to this half dollar challenge, I have handed out $2376 in half dollars in this time (averaging $297 per week). I have seen almost no silver coins, commemoratives, proofs or coins newer than 2006 in the half dollars. I hope this is not the new normal! Enjoy half dollars!
