I was on the lookout for a 7070 coin type album by dansco and found a few for around $100 on ebay. I wasn't willing to pay that amount and went with the littleton one. Now I can start looking for type coin. Should I of waited for a better deal on the dansco or did I make the right choice with littleton? What am I getting myself into

I, personaly, would've hated to spend $70ish for a 7070 but would have done so anyways. Dansco>Littleton, Dansco>Whitman, Whitman>Littleton. Do yourself a favor and never buy coins from Littleton Coin. Good for the VERY beginner, but the prices are RIDICULOUSLY HIGH.

You could also have went with an intercept shield type album. I'm happy with mine - I also wasn't willing to pay the price for the Dansco

It's another company that makes coin albums. I first heard about them here and they had pretty good reviews. I would try to post a link but I'm pretty computer illiterate so, I'm sure a search here will net you several results if you are interested in them.

Well I would say Dansco are excellent quality wise, but I was fortunate enough to have a very nice CCF member trade one to me. Also was able to get some foreign Dansco type albums and they are pretty awesome. I have tracked a bunch of 7070s on ebay and it isn't impossible to find some in the $50-60 dollar range. But as long as the Littleton albums makes you happy that is what matters!

The only thing I don't like about the Littleton albums is their bulky look. They tend to make a half circle on the shelf with my other albums. I tend to leave one partially open to make the row go straight.

I was lucky enough to get my 7070 in 1993. It is certainly difficult to justify spending $100 on one today. The Intercept shield is more like the Dansco and would have made a better substitute, but I think the Littleton is okay.

I'm glad I have a Dansco. Given the choice between Littleton and Intercept Shield albums, I would go with Littleton. I have my State Quarters in a Littleton album and it's not bad. The ring binder takes some getting used to and it doesn't fit on the shelf as nicely as the Dansco (as was mentioned previously). On the other hand, the Intercept Shield gets bashed by a lot of people. There have been issues with the coin hole sizes. Sometimes the coin will not physically fit into the hole and other times they are too loose and allow the coins to rotate. The Intercept Shields are made in China, so quality control is questionable and who knows what chemicals they use in the manufacturing process. I don't have one, but have heard there is a warning statement on the album to replace them every 15 years. Huh? I've had some of my Dansco albums for 30 years without any problem.

I'm beginning to think that I should of waited to see if a good deal on a dansco 7070 would come up.

It is a tough call .. Dansco albums are my favorite. Some of the others, are not bad. I do have at least one Littleton album, a Susan B. Anthony album. I would say the quality is not bad. But would agree with others, that they do not sit on the shelf as well as Dansco. Last October I purchased a Intercept Shield type album, and posted it and my Dansco .. just to show others the differences, https://goccf.com/t/242296 If you have pictures of the Littleton type album, I would like to see them.

From the photos you posted of the pages, the Littleton album pretty much has exactly the same coins as the Dansco album. For the price it's hard to beat.
