Some posts just age well. This may be an old post but I just got the Stoneman Type H quarter back from PCGS a little while ago. This is a great die many don't know about, and a coin that is still out there and moving around getting graded and talked about off board, so it can be worth bringing up old threads. Just because a thread is old doesn't mean a coin isn't interesting.

Is this variety listed in the CPG?
Excellent that PCGS slabbed it with the attribution. Unfortunately, their "Minor Variety" designation belittles how rare it is.

Congrats to Stoneman for finding it and you for acquiring it and having it slabbed.

Very nice TB...

Wow, I need to learn a lot more about quarters... I probably threw a few varieties back into circulation due to my ignorance!

Thanks all for sharing.

This variety it is very scarce to rare variety. Surprising me PCGS certify this variety because they stop before to Type C (RDV-003). Is good to see this. For the moment only ANACS certify those varieties and also VVS. I will try again with PCGS the others varieties, the very scarce, scarce, rare and very rare. Hope will be also those varieties put in the catalogs of the FS denominations. Those varieties normal are the FS-901, but this it is to follow with Fivaz.

Excelent TB. Me personnaly I wanted this coin to come back an MS but it is not bad this AU-58. I know only 3 in MS and 2 (3rd your) in AU-58. You made a good choice with PCGS instead of CACG which probably was give Details AU.
