Now, let me see if I got this right...the winner will receive all four options, he/she/it only must choose the order in which he/she/it would like to receive them? So, if and when I win, I only need choose say, option 1 to be received the first week, maybe, say, option 4 to be mailed the second week, and so on? (I'm not mercenary, only greedy!)
Adobero, it's not Christmas yet. But, when I win, I get to pick only one of the four, much as I'd like to have all four (it'd save me from a heart-wrenching decision). Mike and lim are generous, but I don't think they are that generous...
Fred
Now to set the "cat among the pigeons"..... ...two more options added to make it harder come decision time...that is if you are the winner... [:p] Refer to first post for the two new options.

Now that you've sweetened the pot, it's time to lock this topic to prevent more entries. Numbers-wise, adobero's 12 days of Xmas are getting closer. Another thought - send the winner (i.e., moi) his/her/my three top options and let him/her/me pick his/her/my top preference and send the rest back. [:0]

adobero, didja ever notice that out west here, we have the advantage over most everyone else on the forum since we can get the last word in? They've all gone to bed! [:p] Good night, sweet Prince... or Irene or Mrs. McGillicuddy...
Yes, I've noticed that. Only problem is, sometimes I feel like I'm talking to myself, which in the case of some of my posts is probably just as well.

Gold, gold, and more gold! Surely, this must be the best Christmas giveaway ever Shirley! Did anyone ever see the old movie: Treasure of the Sierra Madre? I hope we all don't start gettin' crazy here. [:p]

I have Treasure of the Sierra Madre on DVD (a Walmart one dollar special, so well worth the investment). Did anyone else have a problem with the ease of which they extracted all that gold from a hard rock mine with no water? We're up to 19 entered in the IG II. Time to cut off the numbers, elsewise we'll have such high competition that even my kharma won't be able to overcome the odds (the reason I don't bother with lotteries; at 13 million to one, the chances are better that I'll be struck by lightning). Fred
Actually, they did show them diverting water into a sluice at the time when they first got to the site, but you're right, where did the water come from in that desert? Further, how did they crush all that rock to be able to use a sluice? Incidentally, Treasure of the Sierra Madre is on TCM tonight if anyone's interested. It shows what "...gold does to a man" (and ladies)

I don't remember the sluice. I'll have to watch the movie again and pay closer attention (I've seen it only maybe three times). Yeah, in this neck of the SW AZ woods (read: desert), it's kinda hard to extract the gold from the hard rock without water or chemicals and a LOT of hard work and a LOT of upfront money. Just to get to the gold-bearing rock requires dynamite which requires hand drilling blasting holes (which has to be some of the hardest and most dangerous work around), then the ore has to be hauled and crushed before extraction is even attempted. (This is a very succinct description of hard rock gold mining.) And, the "mother lode" (gold concentrated as source for downstream deposits; a completely different geological phenomenon than the movie) usually doesn't exist in hard rock gold areas since the gold is in dust or metamorphically-created crystals such as quartz from the Tertiary (roughly some 11 million years ago) or older, so hasn't been recently deposited. Without water and embedded in rock, gold can't move, concentrate, or be deposited downstream. The kind of effort to mine gold both in the movie and in real life is far above my pay grade. Fred

O.K. guess I will throw my hat into the ring!
It's like a candy store, you don't know what to pick. this is going to be hard for someone.
Thank you for the opportunity.

You are in OldDan.... It sure is "candy" for the eyes...will be real interesting as to which one will be picked by the winner. Will it be the lone US and UK entry or the ones from the land of Oz Will the pick be based on sheer beauty of the coin, scarcity of obtaining one or just because it is a gold issue ....Time will tell...[:p] If it is me...it won't be any of the gold issues.... In the meantime, keep those entries rolling in, days of free lunches are " excessively rare" .. Cheers.....Lim
