I've searched thousands of dollars of nickels and found 2 2009 nickels both Philly's. I know they have low mintages for nickels, but I don't think they should be this rare. I'm in northeadtwrn, Kentucky. Is this regional?

>>>Imthealphaomega<<<;
I did the same thing: bought my first P & D's from ebay. I have a second set and am still in need of the 2009-P, but I'm content to wait a while longer and still hope to find one 'in the wild'.

I find the 2009d at least one a box on searching nickels... the 2009p though has really become my mission. So I assume it is a regional issue for which one you may find.

I can find about 2 to 3 2009D in every box ($100) of Nickels. Out of 10 boxes - I have only found one 2009P.

I will be glad to trade a 2009D for a 2009P

Since resuming CRH activities, I've found 45 2009P and 13 2009D out of approximately 50 boxes. So nearly 1 P per box and 1 D every 4 boxes. I'm in CT so Philly specimens are easier to find. But while the numbers suggest that these can be practically found, many are well circulated specimens. Only a handful of the Ps are XF/AU and perhaps only 2 of the Ds.

Bottom line: given time, CRH enthusiasts will find them, but likely not in a high grade.
Rest in Peace

Amazing that they pick up so much circulation wear in just 6-7 years. Nickels do circulate.

Out of $368 in nickels, I have pulled 7 Ds and 2 Ps. I was surprised to get that many Ps. Some of the coins are ugly, but most aren't too bad.

BTW, I have also heard about the Puerto Rico-only release. Not sure if it's true, but it makes sense given the rarity.
