I was agreeing with the previous comment, that it was within tolerance. (acceptable as far as the mint is concerned) I just measured the rotation on Photoshop and it is 10 degrees rotated.

I don't know how to measure it but it didn't look that far off from the 45 degree picture.and pete said he measured it at 33 so 10 and 33 is a big difference but still more than 5

My first picture looked rotated more than my second picture that is strange but still I am happy 10 is more than 5 and I have a die clash with it so to me it is a keeper.

i found a 1974 penny the mint is on the reverse side under united.can you give me a thought on this?cool coin you have

Probably an alteration. The mint mark is only punched on the obverse on the cents.
