I'm more surprised in the fact that people have actually bought many of his 'toned' items. There must exist a totally different type of humanity that buys on ebay.

This thing looks like it was a roll end coin that was set on a BBQ grill. I don't think I want to eat anything this guy brings to a potluck.

Ox-Acetylene anyone? Next time don't hold the torch so close to the coin dummy, that looks terrible. Anyone who buys that is a fool. It's a shame people do this stuff period. Especially all these darn fake errors and stuff. Ruins the hobby!

Has anyone experimented to determine whether stomach acid will tone coins? If I swallowed a silver coin and a bronze coin, which one do you think would tone the most? Also, if the coins do tone, do you think anyone in CCF would be interested in buying them?

Based on the faded, damage to the surfaces, I suspect this was done chemically using food. The surfaces appear to have been exposed to acid, it has eaten-off the luster, suggesting eggs, potatoes or whatever he had lying around.

Paola not really. This is an argument that happens a lot with marked coins in CRHing. It is not damaged on purpose to be unrecognizable, or damaged in a way to make it look like a different denomination.
