"The San Francisco Bicentennial Medal" [MACO # 1976-071] crafted by Spero Anargyros is a 2.5" high relief bronze featuring San Francisco's bicentennial logo and the Liberty Bell on the obverse and two iconic symbols of San Francisco -- the Golden Gate Bridge and Mission Dolores -- on the reverse. Mission Dolores' adobe chapel dates to 1776.

Anargyros trained at Arts Student League in NYC and also worked under Avard Fairbanks in SLC. He designed the Hawaii Statehood Medal.

I collect the Stone Mountain ones. Had a silver 1.2 oz one that was slabbed and sold it.

@cptbilly I am new to the coin community but writing about the Anargyros medal for a book and am very appreciative to see your photographs of it! It looks like I can't email you yet as a new member, is there a way for me to message you directly or for you to email me?
