Oh Bromberg has most of the allocation. He commissions these coins. All three big coin series are his babies. He is pushing the subscription over the singles for sure. For the first time, CC&C is doing exactly like RCM with the subscription by only offering the wooden box. I ordered the last 2 subscriptions of the big coins with CC&C and all the coins came with the clamshell as well as the graphic sleeves, plus the wooden box near the end of the subscription. This time only wooden box.

@jimper Thank you for info. I ordered coin subscription from RCM before, know how coin subscription works. When I buy coin subscription from RCM, I need to click " subscription " button and RCM will charge each coin before shipping. But when I placed order on Big Coin on The Shopping Channel, TSC price $559.99 or Easy Pay 6 Payments $93.33 TSC's webpage mentioned nothing about subscription of other 5 coins, nor asking " commitment to buy other 5 coins " Which gave me assumption of TSC is selling single coin, not subscription. Let us wait for few days, TSC might clarifies on this coin subscription stuff.

@New1954
lol.
I am just buying for fun.
Goose Silver Dollar is a good looking coin to buy if I have the chance but not a must buy coin for me.
Thank you for your advice.

Paying anything over issue for these right now is not something I would consider at all. There will still be plenty around here and there. I can't understand the hype.

The marketplace barely can absorb 1500 mintage on the popular 5oz. coins, not sure what will increase the demand on this one or just wishfull thinking, there are many 5oz. or even 1 oz. swimming, smiling beavers, the lost ships, and many more commissioned coins that have flopped, but good luck to the collectors that expect these coins to double in value.

I think having the 1st coin artificially increasing in cost will hurt the series. Adding to an already expensive series will turn people off the series. The series should be sold only as a subscription and as people cancel orders the mintage drops.

Thank you to New1954 for posting about the availability on TSC.
I went on and ordered what definitely looks like the first coin only (very vague listing so far). It lets you put in easy pay for up to 6 payments. The $559 is all I've committed to on my order so I'm guessing this is for only one coin. I'm only interested in the goose coin so if its more, I'll cancel it.

I asked CC&C about the "Wooden Box" only issue. Apparently this boneheaded decision was made by the RCM and that the store was just as shocked as I was. Booo RCM----- I put in an order on TSC and then checked my email saying it was for a subscription -_- Does anyone know how to cancel with TSC? I should have read this thread...

Quote: Mintage on this set is 2150. I have to believe that the single coins are part of the mintage. Probably 500 of them being the set with the case and 1650 as singles. So I'm thinking that he (Steve) will be pushing to sell the set first and then perhaps the singles, if he was allocated any I think it is the reverse. Probably 1500 as sets and the rest as singles. Practically all the dealers are pushing the coins as a set rather than as singles. Even the Coin Shoppe is selling the coins as a subscription. They don't have any singles.

If you were a dealer which would you push 1 coin or a 6 coin sub.

Reason I believe this is the first Big coin series was made up of 350 sets and the rest were singles. But we will have to wait and see.

Quote: If you were a dealer which would you push 1 coin or a 6 coin sub It's a lot easier to sell singles as they are more affordable and not everyone will be in the market to spend $3300.00 at once. Also you might only like certain coins and not all.IMHO

Quote: I put in an order on TSC and then checked my email saying it was for a subscription -_- Does anyone know how to cancel with TSC? I should have read this thread... You have committed to pay CAD 560. How exactly you will get subscription for this money? If this is some error, TSC will just cancel all these orders. But if they selling singles - it will be ok. Quote: Reason I believe this is the first Big coin series was made up of 350 sets and the rest were singles. But we will have to wait and see. Sorry to say, but we saw this already for millions dozen times. "Subscription" is not the same as "set". RCM doesn't make clear split of the mintage. Let's say like this: some amount assured to sold as singles. But during first coin offer, the Mint will sell as many subs as it can, and the rest - singles. If you have a sub, and someone else will have Silver Dollar only, you can't say "I have it with mintage X", cause anyway it will be 2150. Please correct me if I wrong, but my guess, that for all Big Coins subs, the COAs are per coin.
