i won this off ebay recently..it was a poorly done listing so I snagged it for $50 due to a bad description and the seller showed the obverse as the main photo instead of the reverse..iv'e never seen one before and dating it pre 1948 is pretty cool.

Nice, I saw that coin too but was afraid someone had just taken some acid and played around with it. Really need to hone my coin skills

SPP would have a view I am sure. I would have thought more like $100. You see Elizabeth examples much more frequently.

I was thinking the same... the rim should be cupped up. I already have a George VI obverse brockage cent, so I passed on this one.

@smallcentguy could you see if you can find any markers on the obverse of your example? i'd love to see if mine is a later state from the same die cap as yours.

here's a marker I found on mine, a die chip on the top left are of the second. G of GEORIVS...see if yours maybe has the same marker.

Have you weighed the coin yet? The more I look at this coin, the more I tend to think it is a legit cap strike...
