@Bigchip22 - Melting it wouldn't be a good idea. It wastes coins doing that, especially for collectors.

As for the coin, I think it's worth like 2-5 cents. It's not much, though.

Since it's not a rare coin, its monetary value is simply whatever you can get someone to give you for it. It's in fairly nice condition, so there's sure to be someone out there who needs to fill that hole in their LWC album. You might be able to get a couple of bucks if you put it up on ebay.

But I agree, its personal value is much more than its monetary value. Years from now, the enjoyment you get out of pulling it out and telling your friends how this coin helped you get started in the hobby is going to be worth more than anything you could put into your bank account.

jpsned I so want to offer you pounds and pounds of 1958 cents for SUBSTANTIALLY less than a couple dollars each in SUBSTANTIALLY nicer condition that YOU could sell on ebay.

But that would be so snarky of me that I absolutely refuse to do so
