Quote:"Garcia has been to prison six times in 18 years for offenses in Harrison County. According to prison records, he was convicted of robbery in 1999 and sentenced to five years probation. In 2000, he received three concurrent five year sentences for burglary, armed robbery, and receiving stolen property. In 2006, Garcia was sentenced to four years for burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, and in 2009 he was convicted of grand larceny and burglary of an unoccupied dwelling. He was released on parole in 2014 and was finished with his parole as of January of 2015. Garcia is also wanted in Missouri for unlawful use of a weapon and second degree burglary, according to the Greene County Sheriff's Department website." http://www.clarionledger.com/story/...st/95694488/ After reading the above: part of the blame should fall on the shoulders of our legal system. With such a long and violent rap sheet Garcia should have still been locked up. Now thanks partly to the judicial system three people are dead.

Very sad for the three that were killed.
It is good that they were caught ... The fact that the man had six prison sentences in 18 years, makes me think the system is broken.
It is stories like these that has that made me recently decide to carry a weapon while at work.

Two losers who took the lives of three hardworking senior citizens. Now let's see what happens. Most likely, they will allow the woman to get less time if she turns on him, confesses and testifies in court. That is if the evidence is not absolute. If the evidence is concrete, I hope prosecutors will make sure she gets the same sentence as that punk.

After conviction, they will have no choice but to let them out of jail again, after a few short years.
Why?
The jails are full.

As far as the "system" goes I'm most disappointed in this statement about Garcia: Quote: "In 2000, he received three concurrent five year sentences for burglary, armed robbery, and receiving stolen property." Sooooo......15 years? Not hardly. He was back at it and being sentenced 6 years later. I really do not understand concurrent sentences and by that I mean how they are justified and mean anything more than a single five year sentence. A single being cannot serve three sentences at once. What?! It makes no sense... I'm happy that they are in custody but going off of Garcia's rap sheet I don't expect much.

Sad, sad story. I'm just glad they got the two scumbags off the streets. They'll never breath fresh air again. I was just having a conversation over a Christmas lunch, with a FBI friend, about the messed up judicial system. The cops capture these thugs over & over, only to have the "good ole boy" judicial system free them up, so that the attorneys profit off their catch and release system. We need to build more jails, and keep the habitual thugs locked up, they are not remediable people.

I disagree that those who are habitual thugs and beyond remediation should be locked up. That just costs the taxpayer millions for a lifetime of gaol plus the risk that at some stage they will kill somebody either inside (wardens, visitors or other prisoners) or outside (during court appearances, hospital/dental treatment or after escaping). Had this thug been executed before now the 3 families would still have their loved ones. Just hope that his execution in the next few years will give them closure.

Quote: Had this thug been executed before now the 3 families would still have their loved ones. Prior to this crime, what would you have executed him for? Just curious. If he is found guilty in a triple murder, I hope they execute him now, but I see nothing in his past which warranted that penalty. Another question which needs to be asked is why this person could never be rehabilitated in prison? Why did he come out more dangerous than when he went in?
