Good photo, Jbuck. Bet it has sentimental value to you... umm... not that we manly men ever get sentimental... right? *grunt grunt* My 1976-S 40% silver BU (Dansco hole filler). At first I was annoyed at the reflection and poor lighting. But, the more I look at it, the more I like it. Maybe artistic? To me, it almost looks like a proof. I'm half tempted to send it in for grading (looks better "in hand").

I know the Dansco slides make my BU Ikes look a little glossy.

I bet you're right about the cover slide being inadvertently left on. I "usually" take them off, but occasionally, I do have senior moments.

I do not blame you for leaving them in. The Ikes are thick enough for the slides to make solid contact with the coin surface. Best to leave them in place to minimize rubbing.

Went to store today to get some milk, After I paid and when it was time to get my change, the cashier, knowing I am a coin collector, asked me if I wanted the 2 "silver" dollars she had in her drawer. Of course I said yes. Always good to get coins you collect as change. This is one. The other one is a '74D Ike. I know he's ugly, but he was basically free

Quote: That one looks in great condition CB ever plan on freeing him? Thank you Slamnbass! As of now I don't have any plans on freeing him because he is my only '74-S Blue Ike, but if I found an even nicer one in OGP I might consider it. I also have a 1974 Mint Set and have been tempted to cut it apart to get at the Ikes, but something about a large dollar coin in the mint cellophane is cool Here's my 1976-S (it's much more lustrous in hand):
