1982 Krugerrand when my son was born I think at that time it was about $850.00 plus I had customs tax too.
and I was still in the Army that was a lot to us we just had a new baby & all the baby stuff we needed. my wife was not happy but now we look back and say that's one coin that will never get sold unless my son sells it.

My cheap buy that turn in to a VF-30 1916-D Mercury I payed $35-$45.00 for it the locket was not open in the back with sweat on my brow not trying to damage it and hoping it was a 1916-S a 16-D never crossed my mind, the obverse was Great.

I about died when I seen it was a 1916-D. It was one of the best feeling I ever had in 50 yr of coin collecting.

@look in my CCF Image Gallery it posted there

My most is $51 for a VF 1851 1/2c. My least is so hard to come up with as I've gotten so many from circulation over the years and have gotten free "bonuses" when making coin purchases.

I think the most Ive ever spent was in the 30-40 range. I believe it was for a 1857 Flying IHC.

The cheapest coin Ive bought was probably some AG ICH for .25-.50 or something.

I did pull a "no-date" coin from a dealers junk box once. IHC, of course (I'm a bit obsessed). Turned out to be an 1866 with a sharp eye. Not bad for .25$!
